Your Hair Doesn’t Have to Look Like Mine to Belong Here

Earthly Lush is part of my hair journey. When I say I want it to be part of yours, I am not asking you to copy my hair or follow an identical routine.

Your hair may be a different texture. You may wear locs, braids, curls, a close cut or a style that changes throughout the year. You may know exactly what you enjoy, or still be learning which products and habits suit you.

There should be room for that variety in a brand built around care. I want you to recognise yourself in the questions we take seriously, even when the answer is different from the one that suits me.

A starting story should open a conversation

A founder’s story can explain why a business exists. It should also give the customer somewhere to enter the conversation. My experience matters because it connects me to the work, not because it becomes the standard everyone else must meet.

You should be able to ask how the oil fits fine strands, dense curls or loc maintenance without feeling that your hair is an exception to the brand. Those are ordinary questions from people caring for their own hair.

That is why practical explanations matter alongside the story. A welcome becomes more useful when the information actually helps someone decide how to use the product.

Your preferred finish belongs in the decision

A glossy style may be the result one person wants. Someone else may prefer soft movement, fullness or a finish that barely looks as though anything was added.

Those preferences affect the amount of oil that feels right. They also affect where it belongs. A light application to the ends may suit you better than coating every part of the hair.

When reading advice, keep your own aim visible. You are allowed to preserve the features you already enjoy. Caring for your hair should not require replacing your taste with the appearance of a product photograph.

Texture is not a measure of effort

Hair can be well cared for and still have volume, shrinkage, flyaways or a shape that changes in humidity. A perfectly uniform surface is not the only sign of attention.

The phrase “healthy hair is good hair” appears in our brand materials because I want care to stay central. It should encourage thoughtful handling and useful routines, rather than another hierarchy of textures.

You do not need to prove that your hair is easy to manage before it deserves care. You also do not need to apologise when a routine takes time to learn.

Product guidance should leave room to adjust

Rosemary Thyme Oil Blend is our opening product. Our printed finishing method starts with a few drops spread between the palms and smoothed over damp or dry mid-lengths and ends.

That gives you a place to begin, not a demand to use the same amount regardless of length, density or style. Fine hair may need a smaller finish. Dense hair may need more careful sectioning to distribute a light amount evenly.

The useful part is understanding the purpose of the step. When you know what you are trying to achieve, you can assess the result in your own hair instead of checking whether it matches mine.

Questions make the brand more useful

I want to hear which part of the experience was clear and which part left you guessing. Perhaps you liked the feel but needed help controlling the amount. Perhaps a direction did not answer the question you had.

Specific feedback gives us something to work with. It can shape clearer articles, better explanations and more useful information around the product.

There is also room for an honest result that is not a perfect fit. A relationship built around care needs more than praise. It needs attention to what the person using the bottle actually experienced.

Bring your own journey

You do not have to arrive with a finished routine or a dramatic transformation story. You can begin with a simple question about your ends, your style or how to make wash day feel more manageable.

I am building a Jamaican-owned brand from a personal starting point. I want the experience to remain human as it grows: clear about who we are and open to the people who find their way here.

Your hair does not have to look like mine to belong in that conversation. I want Earthly Lush to contribute something useful to the way you care for your own crown.
